The Church of San Girolamo is one of the largest in Polizzi and one of the few octagonal churches in Sicily.

Commissioned by the Jesuits under Friar Girolamo Mistretta, it was designed by the famous architect Friar Angelo Italia at the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries.
It was later deconsecrated and reopened for worship in 1992.
inside is the many-coloured wooden sculpture of the Immaculate Conception from the 18th century and the 16th-century marble statue of the Madonna and Child by Giandomenico Gagini. The 17th-century paintings by Giuseppe Salerno are also valuable: "The Martyrdom of S. Stefano", "Our Lady of the Rosary" and "The Holy Family".
The splendid Baroque portal with carved faces of putti, popes and saints and floral motifs.
